This NEMA type property above benefited from a smallscale transformation using Novabrik at lower level, to great effect. Installation was achieved within one day, leaving the window contractors to finish their elements of work.
A support system is added and the porch unit is stripped out. As the first stage in Novabrik installation, bespoke timber units are made then fitted to the porch and below the front window.
An insulated backing is fitted. Timber struts are then added to support the quoin detail and allow for the fixing of Novabrik at regular intervals.
A quoin detail is assembled.
A Starter Track is put in place to ensure the Novabrik is level and to avoid sagging and improve airflow as well as moisture drainage.
Once the timber framing, insulated backing and starter track are in place, installation of Novabrik is a rapid process. Here, 3- 4 Novabriks are added at a time in a manoeuvre known as the Novabrik Shuffle.
With each new course added, an operative ensures that the Novabrik is sitting / fitted properly before further the installation continues.
Non traditional houses are perfect candidates for Novabrik. We are currently on site at two housing estates in Gateshead to transform a variety of house types with this innovative cladding system. The property opposite benefited from a small-scale transformation using Novabrik at lower level, to great effect. We completed the Novabrik installation within one day.
This project was added to our site on 14 September 2007 and is currently filed under Non Traditional Housing and Decent Homes.
