The Rabble Rousers

Stylised Image of a Rabble Rousers Gig

Many years ago Ranson, our illustrious Director, was a punk rocker and played bass in a local band called The Crime. Apparently, they were ‘this close’ to hitting the big time. We asked Ranson who ‘the big time’ were and what they had done to upset him but he refused to answer. Instead, he walked away muttering something about being big in Japan and how we should really go and check out The Rabble Rousers who were almost certainly destined for musical greatness.

Ranson can be found romancing the music out of his guitar along with Cab (Lead Vocal) Ray (Bass) and Frank (Drums) at The Marlborough in Seaham on the 17th September and at the Mill Inn on the 18th. Please come along.

We’re told that the crowd can expect a great night out and a lively mix of music including stuff by The Clash, The Killers, Stereophonics and The Jam amongst others. The venue can expect the band to hoover their dressing room after the gig, wash down all the surfaces and leave fresh flowers to brighten things up before leaving. Surely that’s not rock ‘n’ roll.

How can you be a punk or rock group with a hair cut like yours?

If you are playing anywhere in Newcastle let me know?

The name Rabble definitely describes this lot but I dont know about the Rousing, with regard to the Friday night at the Marlborough after several trips around Seaham we found it and settled down in the royal box at the side of the stage for the show. Our passports were taken off us at the door and we told they would be retained until we left to ensure that we returned north of tyne before midnight as the drawbridge is then pulled up until the following morning. Any way back to the band, Ransons hair do made him look as if he had put his finger in the socket or the just got of bed look after a heavy night out. I suppose at least he had some hair, with regard to the music every other song is a clash song.
Thanks for a memorable night
Andy and Gillian (north of the Tyne)
