In-situ concrete repairs have recently been completed to the coping detail of a 5m high vertical concrete block sea wall located along the headland in Hartlepool. The scope of works included pressure cleaning existing surfaces to remove seaweed, loose debris and other deleterious matter before damaged concrete could be removed back to a clean and sound substrate. A proprietary repair mortar was used to rebuild the concrete to match the profile of the existing coping stones. This involved both shuttered and non-shuttered areas complete with steel reinforcement where necessary. A curing membrane was then applied to the mortar.
