St Astier operatives are working with Volker Rail staff at bridge number 22 which provides essential rail links to the city docks at Kingston upon Hull. We will be sealing gaps between packers after the removal of longitudinal timbers, using Hydrocell cellular polyethylene strips. The timbers, which support the tracks above, will be securely grouted using a high strength epoxy grout to prevent movement . The work is due to take place during this weekend’s planned track closure giving the team an eighteen hour window to complete the operation.
